My son(10) was diagnosed with mono on 9/2. he displayed sympthoms in late July(sore throat, lack of appetite). He developed a bad cough, congestion primarily at night and mornings. We thought it was allergies. He had SED rate of 46 two weeks ago and now its down to 15. he appears to be getting better. Doctor instructed him to stop playing football for 1 month. Seems like a very conservative approach considering we are sure he has an enlarged, swollen spleen. We are going to confirm its enlarged. Assuming it is how long for things to settle down to get him back into football.

Mono in child
Hi,
Your son is a year older than my daughter. I was wondering where you are, we live in Chesapeake, VA. My daughter was diagnosed yesterday after 3 days with a fever. Her test came back slightly positive.
