Im 21 and Im in the military. I had a larger size mole removed from my abdomen 2 weeks ago after I had noticed some changes over a few months. It was changing in size, color and elevation. I only went to the clinic after I had began feeling some pain coming from the general area it was located.

A week after the removal I went back to get my stitches out, and the doc told me that the mole had "come back as cancer, they sent the specimen to a specialty lab, and they didnt get it all out and i would need more surgery"

can anyone shed some light on what i could be dealing with here?

Mole that changes in size, shape, color and sensations like itching or pain, can be suspected for melanoma.
Usually, a wide excision is practiced to excise the cancer (removal of 3-5 cm of skin around the particular malignant melanoma reducing the chances for local recurrence).
