I'm 16 years old and I was diagnosed with moderate scoliosis a few weeks ago. I've been looking up on the internet and it says it's the curvature of the spine and it can be treated with exercises, a back brace and surgery.

I know you're thinking "You've just answered your question!" But I haven't. My scoliosis isn't so much the curvature but more so the twisting of my spine. This causing me to have a not-so-pretty rib hump on my back. I have been referred to an orthopaedic (I think that's what they're called) to discuss treatments. But what treatment do they give to those with the twisted spines. I can't see the brace working, in some cases I've read it's made it worse. And I don't see exercise helping either. I'm really worried I'll go straight to surgery.

It is very painful. I can't take all my books to school. Standing up for long periods of time is a no, the pain gets unbearable. Sleeping is hard as it takes me along time to get myself into a comfy position.

I really would like a heads up about what treatment I could possibly be given. And if anyone has suffered scoliosis I'd like to know your treatment and how it worked for you. Thank you.
