Hi everyone,
I am a 25 year old female student nurse. On and off over the last three or four months I have been suffereing with pain in my lower back, sometimes it's just an ache, sometimes its a sharp stabbing pain, i have it in both sides of my kidney area. I sometimes have pain when beginning to pass urine, and sometimes I have considerable pain after passing urine. I have also noticed that I am passing urine more frequently as well.
I have been to see my doctor twice in the last few months and was prescribed trimethoprim both times, this did relieve the symptoms for a short while but they have now returned. I decided to dip my urine whilst on placement today and it came up as negative for everything but blood - moderate amount & a trace of protein.
I suffered with repeated kidney and uti infections as a child. I'm scared to go to my doctor again... Can anyone help??

Thanks
Katie x

Seeing I had a serious kidney disease when I was young, my suggestion to you is to go to the doctor and have this checked out...It is probably nothing, but you will feel better about it...Take care...
