I just relized there was a pet forum on here! Lol. Rolling Eyes Well now that I know that I will post about our Tom cat and what he did last night and you guys can tell me what I should do with him.

Okay Mittens came home with me about oh id say 10 months ago and he was still kind of a kitten. I found him on the highway on my way home from work. He wasnt litter trained so we put him out side with our kittens we already had, well one that we thought was a boy turned out to be a girl... needless to say she just about four weeks ago had kittens and HER mother had kittens by him also. Well claws and Smudge the two kittens from me indoor cat that are also kittens of Mittens have been outside with him sence they were 8 weeks old... two nights ago he killed the little girl (Claws) just ripped her to shreds (sorry for the wording) it was sick... then last night while I was putting the horses up he was dragging Fuz (the kitten we thought was a boy and had kittens) by the back of her neck across the yard. I took her away from him and she was fine, I put her and the kittens in the hay barn where he couldnt get her and the kittens. Well Cowboy out gelding(horse) got out last night around 12:00 and knocked the door open...so when we went out this morning to catch our loose horse we found poor Fuz... mittens had ripped up her face... she is okay for know but I really think we need to get rid of Mittens... there is deff. somthing wrong with him.

Have any of you seen anything like that befor...from a cat? Shocked Its down right scary!

He went to the vet to be evaluated (mentaly) and they said that there was somthing wrong with his head. They put him down. RIP Mittens.

Hi Sweetie! Me Fairy*Godmother
I too am so sorry for the loss of all you cats. I've had cats my entire life, at present I have 4. I have NEVER had one be this aggressive, although my inside male Maine Coon at 20 pounds looks at me with that "bust a move" threat look sometimes. For hte life of me I can not imagine a cat mangling and killing another. Mine have their hissy fits, but nothing that draws blood. I am glad Mittens is at peace and won't hurt anyone else, let alone himself. You did the right thing. God bless you! ^..^

I have his sons and daughters left to remind me of him, one of wich is in the house and is by may side ALL the time (not like my more independent cats). (They are all spayed and nuterd/spayed) Smudge my inside kitten of his looks just like him only long haired... I love him. Im to glade mittens dosnt hurt anymore, he was to good a cat for that pain. He was a very pretty loving boy before all that.

Thanks for all your kind words!^

Very disturbing!
Wow. I just found this message. I am a huge animal and this was so disturbing to read. I am so sorry for the two kitties.

We just recently had our ONLY outdoor cat viciously attacked by what we thought was a wild animal. Our kitty was the sweetest girl and had herself been through a tough life growing up. We gave her a good home as our barn cat since she had grown up outside and on the loose. But she was no match for whatever it was that hurt her. She was alive when we found her, but too badly injured to recover. The vet treated her for 4 hours and her vital signs began to drop even with an IV and heating pad to keep her temp up. It was a hard decision to make, but she is better off now than she was after being attacked. I feel like we weren't good pet owners or a good family for her. She was the first pet I have ever lost as an adult. We have 3 other cats who are all strictly indoors and will never have another outdoor cat. Ever! I knew it was the wrong thing to do. I should have listened to my instincts. Ever time I went out to see her, I just wanted to scoop her up and bring her back inside. But my husband wouldn't allow it. Sad

Ok. Sorry for the downer. This post just brought back those memories. Now I have made myself sad. None of us needed that. Sorry.

Please love and care for your animals. And if you cannot, do like preggie meggie and find them loving homes that can (this is from another post she made, which is actually dated later than this one).

Take care! - QB09
