Missing periods and pregnancy Posted: 05-11-08 11:25am
I havent had sex in 2 months (protected of
course!)...and i got my period on april
4th last month, this month im a week late
thus far and im getting a little
worried...ive taken 3 tests since i had
sex that last time all which came up neg.
I just got out of college for the summer
so im wondering if stress of school is a
factor. the past 3 months ive been over a
month late on every period and it usually
comes within the next week. I have
cramps, lower back pain, acne like i
normally would just no period...i even
took a preg. test last week and it was
negative. Any suggestions on why i havent
gotten it..I havent had any weight loss
but i have been going to bed at 4-5 in the
AM just because I cant sleep. Please
Help!
Missing the period is the first serious
sign of pregnancy but not always. The few
negative pregnancy tests are convincing
enough to exclude pregnancy as a
possibility. Irregular cycles are
basically due to a hormonal disturbance in
the axis hypothalamus-pituitary-ovaries.
Irregular cycles usually lack ovulation.
Excessive physical or mental stress can
cause that hormonal disturbance and lack
of ovulation.
You may want to consult your gynecologist
about this.
