So last night I missed my birth control pill, and did not realize so until about 4:00 pm today. I immediatly took the one I missed and waited till my usual time ( 7:00 pm) to take the one for today.
is this considered missing a pill and if so how long should i use backup protection?

my pack of pills says that Im supposed to be protected even if I miss a pill for a day, it also instructs to do exactly as you did..take it as soon as you remember to and then continue taking the following pills on your regular schedule...so i'm sure if you just missed one you're ok but if you're uncomfortable just use a condom for the next few days

You don't need backup protection- you technically missed one, but you don't need to worry unless you miss two within a week.

But like worrywart said, if you're really anxious about it, use a condom until you've taken the pills correctly for seven days.
