Q: Missed Period

I have been on Loestrin 24fe for about 4 full months now (I started about mid January of 2009) and up until this month I have gotten my period during my four days of the placebo pills. Granted it lasted an average of about 2 days, however this month the brown placebo pills started June 3rd( until the 6th) and I didn't get my period. I had a little bit of cramping, usual spout of acne that I usually get when my period is approaching and feeling of discharge but what seemed to be only a little and not really of any color. I haven't been feeling sick but I have been getting hot and cold and night. It has now been almost a week since the first day I was supposed to get my period. Since the last time I had my period my boyfriend and I have only had sex once, in which we used a condom; however, this past month due to my work schedule I hadn't been taking the pills all at the same time and I missed one, which I doubled up on the next day. Also, I had hear that the 14th day after the start of your period is when alot of women try to conceive and my boyfriend and I had sex on that day in my cycle( My last period was due May 6th(the first brown pill being that day) but it didn't actually come until the 8th, so 14 days from the 8th is the 22nd-we had sex early morning on the 23rd), but the condom didn't break, as far as I know. Do you think there is a chance I could be pregnant or would it be safe to say that on this type of birth control I might just have skipped a period because of the hormones?

This morning I took a pregnancy test and it came up as "not pregnant". I might have peed a few seconds more than 5 like it required but I don't believe that would really affect it? Just to make sure I am taking one more next week.

if you have been taking your pills every day then i believe it's probably because of the pills.
doctors dont usually have time to sit and talk to you. so you should research the side effects of your birth control on the net.
