Hi,
Welcome to ehealthforum,
Lighter bleeding/spotting, brown discharge could be suggestive of possibility of pregnancy. Urine pregnancy tests (UPT) kits usually start showing positive results after about 20 days post-conception (roughly corresponding to about a week after your missed periods). These test kits are calibrated ones and show positive result only if the hormonal levels of HCG reach a certain level, and hence are not reliable during early pregnancy (some women can keep getting false negative results throughout pregnancy). If pregnancy is suspected, look out for development of any new symptoms, and consider visiting your gynecologist/obstetrician for examination (to confirm pregnancy related changes/signs in body) and blood/serum HCG level test (to confirm/rule out pregnancy accurately). Drink plenty of water. Take adequate rest. Maintain healthy diet. Be in regular follow-up and monitoring of your treating gynecologist/obstetrician and report any unusual/abnormal/new symptoms immediately. You can consider repeating the test again after 7-10 days on early morning first urine sample, or go ahead with getting serum HCG level estimation done to confirm/rule out pregnancy.
Take care.
