Q: Miscarriage

Hi

I am 23 and had a miscarriage around 2 years ago (at 21), at 10 weeks I went for a scan as I had had some bleeding and they confirmed that it was silent miscarriage and there was no heartbeat. I was absolutely devastated and decided to let things pass normally, however I felt too upset to return for a second scan 2 weeks later.

I am worried now that I may have caused myself damage by not returning.

Since then I have had normal periods, and a clear smear test, do you think that I may have problems conceiving again because of my stupidity and immaturity back then?

What would make you think you would have problems conceiving again? The second scan would have only confirmed that you passed everything. And I would assume you did, since it has been 2 years and no abnormal problems. And since you've had exams, then your gyno would have alerted you of anything weird. You have no reason to think you won't be able to conceive again. Many women experience a miscarriage and go on to have healthy babies in the future.

There is no reason why i think that i cant, its just coming up to that time of year again, and i always regret not going back just to check everything is ok. I feel alot better after reading your post.. you have said exactly what i was thinking. because i cant talk to anyone else about this its nice to offload my worries.
