Are you having any cramping or bleeding or any of the symptoms you had when you were pregnant? Have you gotten a regular period since miscarrying? I had a miscarriage 2 weeks ago and had trouble passing all of the tissue so they are checking my hcg level weekly until it goes down. They just want to make sure I passed all the tissue so I don't risk infection and can start my normal cycle again.

um well i was on depo so irregular periods are normal on that. i bled a lot after my miscarriage and i do mean a lot so i figured it wasn't necessary. What do you think? No cramps really though. So it's probably not necessary.

Did you know you were pregnant? How could you discern it was a fetus and not a blood clot (a 7 week pregnancy is only the size of a grain of rice)?

You need to see a doctor whenever you feel you are having a miscarriage.

when i miscarried they said i was about 6 weeks. they told me when the embryo passed i wouldn't know what it was it would just look like clot. i went in with horrible cramping and they pulled tissue out of my cervix. they said it looked like the sac and it was definitely the embryo inside. you wouldn't think it would be recognizeable but i asked and they said they could tell what it was.

to tell you the truth I just assumed i was 7 weeks. i was on depo prior to that. i saw what i thought was a tiny baby. about two inches in length. tiny arms, legs, head, body. then i looked it up on the net. At the time i found a site that said at 7 weeks it would be two inches long. looking it up again I can see that isn't a fact. maybe i fell pregnant on depo?? Maybe i was further along?? Maybe it wasn't a tiny babay but i guarantee you what i saw looked like a tiny baby.

I did have preganancy tests and they confirmed i was pregnant. i only took the test the night before, hence probably why it didn't shake me up all too much.. The next day ihad major cramps and bled so much that i decided to go to the hospital. After that they wanted me to wait for an ultra sound. i waited then missed the ultra sound app as i was outside smoking and they thought i'd left. Went back in and they told me i would have to wait even more for the next appointment. i had had enough so i just left.
Back to my original question though. is it necessary to go and have an ultra sound just to make sure everything passed as it should. That everything is okay for future pregnancies or is it not necessary.

You don't necessarily have to have the ultrasound although it wouldn't be a bad idea. You do need the beta hcg blood test done. If you have passed all the tissue your level will be less than 5. If it is higher you probably still have tissue left. I would call and have that done at the very least.

They didn't do any more pregnancy tests or anything? I think you need to find a new doctor, that is gross incompetence!

Well she said she left the hospital before the ultrasound could be done and never went back. Harmony1 you really should get a blood test done.

thank you though i will go and see the doctor.
hgc blood test. i'll make a note.
(oh they did do a blood test at the hospital to confirm i was pregnant)and a test to make sure i hadn't lost too much blood. my levels were fine which was amazing considering all the blood i lost.
