Q: Mirena Bleeding

I got a mirena IUD inserted in April 2008. The normal things happened - cramping, spotting. Eventually it all died off. I have not had my period since then. No spotting, nothing. Just this past week, my fiance got back from overseas and we had sex. Now all of a sudden I started bleeding. It started off as a little spotting, and now its full fledged like I have my period - and I have these horirble cramps ans I'm all irritable. Could this be my period even though I haven't had one since last April? Or could my fiance have one something to move the iud? He says he cannot feel it - but last time I went to see the doctor he cut the strings shorter so they would not bother me or him... has anyone experienced something similar? Other than this I've had no other problems whatsover with the mirena.
