My mother is diabetic and also has high blood pressure. Her memory has gotten extremely bad and it is hard to carry on a conversation with her. Her Dr. order an MRI which he says showed an old stroke and that she is having mini strokes. Is it likely she will eventually have a major stroke?

First of all, brain atrophy caused by diabetes could be the reason of bad memmory.
Actually mini strokes could develope into major stroke, especially among the patients who suffer from diabetes.
