My mum-in-law has a mini stoke and now has double vision and some weakness of the right hand. MRI was taken and doctors could not see anythnig wrong. Thay have discharged her without any additional medication. She was told to continue with her pressure, colestoral, diabetes medication. My question is:
1. Is this a sign for a big stoke?
2. what do we need to do to prevent this?

A second stroke is always a possibility. Controlling blood pressure is very important. She should continue all her medications as directed. Usually blood thinners like aspirin are prescribed to prevent a second stroke. It has been suggested people with diabetes should take a daily aspirin also. Best talk to her doctor about this.
