Hi there,
I've just found this website and found it very useful. I'm currently in the process of having a GTT and been having spells, nausea and major migraine attack for the past 1 year- after giving birth to my baby. Is just that i do not make the connection to what i ate that triggers this. Now i do notice everytime i take samething sugary (my favorites!) it will leaves me wanting more but at the same time, make me feel dizzy, major hadache and extreme fatigue. Also the needs to have a nap after lunch was soo bad!

BTW, also been having difficulties in losing my baby weight even after 14 month. I put on alots of weight-65lb and only lost 20 lb and then gain another 10 lb after that. Even though i did control my diet. Is hypoglycemia will affects weight loss also??

Like today, i had a meeting until 12 something and feel very hungry and quite shaky and during lunch and had 3 tbs of white rice and other chicken and vege dishes (banana leaf) and after 1/2 hour i'm having this major migraine attack. Still feeling it quite strongly now and some nausea too:( and it lasted until late at night. I also feel feverish, and my head feels like it gonna explode.

I'm also been having recurrent of multiple abscess infection in various part of my body and it keep repeating and i'm tired of taking antibiotics for this. For the past 3 month, i've had 7 abscess and it also come around the same time i had my period. Can this be due to high toxicity in my blood?? My doctor says the only thing that can trigger this is if i have diabetes or HIV.

Any advice anyone?? Really appreciate your time on this

I guess, the GTT test was performed to make diagnosis of reactive hypoglycemia, condition with symptoms of low blood sugar 2-4 hours after having a meal (hunger, craving sweets, nervousness, headache, perspiration, shakiness, dizziness, light-headedness, sleepiness, confusion, difficulty speaking, and feeling anxious or weak.)

There are different kinds of reactive hypoglycemia, and, one of them is Pre-diabetes hypoglycemia, that, eventually can lead to diabetes.

You are welcome!
No, I'm not having the same condition!

I think you need to be checked for your thyroid gland function.
There is a type of reactive hypoglycemia, known as Hormonal Hypoglycemia, due to lack of some hormones; i.e., hypothyroidism, lack of thyroid hormones.
Hypothyroidism can develop during or after pregnancy, and can be manifested with extreme fatigue and problem losing weight.
There is a correlation between hypothyroidism and diabetes.
My advice will be to eat small meals and snacks about every 3 hours, including meat, poultry, fish, or non-meat sources of protein, foods such as whole-grain bread, fruits, vegetables, and dairy products, and, avoiding foods high in sugar, especially on an empty stomach.

Visit an endocrinologist!
Best wishes!

Hi again Marija,
I've had my blood test and my GTT came out as normal as all the other thyroid level is normal. I was admitted last week as the dr was quite concern on my repeated absesses. But nothing shout out from the blood test.

The best diognasis she can come out is that my stress level is high so my immunity is so low that i'm prone to infections.

Will need to do another antibodi test this coming Friday.

Really hope my absesses will never returned again:(

I'm trying to do as you advice on the smaller and frequent meals. Hope with exercise it will help on my immune system.

I'm trying to get myself check by endocrinologist soon.

Thanks
Shereen
