Q: microgynon break through bleeding

i started taking the microgynon 30 and im on my 5th month of it. i took a pill late (tho still on the same day!) and i then started to breakthrough bleed. im wondering if it was caused by me skipping a few of my breaks (which it says u can and my doctor said i could but i have done it a few times now!) and i was wondering if the breakthrough bleding will effect the effctiveness of the pill?
