Q: Microdiscectomy

Is it common to have intense pain halfway down my right leg and calf cramping, even moving around is very hard to do because I move any little way left or right if feels like someone is sticking a knife in my lower back and it almost takes the wind out of me.

Back Pain Answer A4133
It is not common to have such intensive pains if the microdiscectomy was successful. Microdiscectomy does not help in 5-10% of treated patients. You may want to consult the neurosurgeon that operated on you about this.
