Q: MG symptoms
asked by: DoctorQuestion on February 18th, 2009
After 2 years' MG symptoms, the immediate result of lipodissolve (phosphatidyl choline, aka lecithin, plus sodium deoxycholate), lower-body muscle tone and mass loss is apparent. Walking 50 steps or climbing one set of stairs results in severe fatigue with the burning sensation typical of overexertion. As the day progresses, merely rising from a chair becomes difficult. Falling has lately become a problem as quads, calves, etc. weaken and fail to respond appropriately to an overbalanced position.

How can I strenthen lower-body muscles when their exercise seems counterproductive? Suggestions?

Your question involves how to strengthen lower-body muscles when exercise itself can be counter-productive.

One tool you may wish to research further is using electric muscle stimulator machines to assist in supporting muscle mass in your lower body. There has been some research showing that it may prevent muscle wasting as a result of disuse, and has been used with patients who are bed ridden. This essentially involves a low level electric current applied to a muscle group that stimulates it to contract. This can definitely increase blood flow.

As you get more accustomed to the machine, you may be able to perform a wider variety of exercises.
