I am a 58 year old female. Iam in very good health. I exercise regulary and eat healthy foods and i am not overweight. For two month I have had a foul metallic taste in my mouth which comes about 10 minutes after I eat. It seems to start at the back edges of my tongue. I have gone to my doctor and had all bloodwork checked. I have gone to my dentist and there is no problem with my teeth. Neither have any idea what the problem is. I am on no medications and I have stopped taking all vitamins and calcium. I feel like I am going crazy wit this constant disgusting taste.

Maybe you should visit a dentist?

I would check to find out if it is some sort of acid-reflux. Stomach acid has a very nasty taste, and it can sneak up your throat especially after eating. If you think this is possible you might try Prilosec OTC or Nexium. Both of those worked wonders for me.

A friend of mine had this symptom and it turned out to be a stomach ulcer.

Metallic taste is also a sign of a toxic liver.

If you have acid reflux you would surely know it. It is a very unpleasant condition, believe me!

That last post really amazes me! Whenever the acid comes up my throat, the burning sensation is horrible and it makes me cough, sometimes to the point of vomiting. It does not give me any pain in the site of the heart, but just the throat. I shudder just thinking about it!
