i am a week shy of 18 years old; i had a surgical abortion 6 months ago & had gotten the [3 month] depo shot for birth control at the time. the shot only made me bleed more so i switched back to my yaz bc pill & my cycle was not completely normal but the constant bleeding stopped enough to give me a few normal periods. recently, the bleeding & clotting started up again so my doctor prescribed me a stronger birth control pill. that didn't do anything but make it worse so she told me to completely stop. i am STILL bleeding and clotting and id really like to stop it quick at least for a weekend but nothing seems to work. ive been checked by the gyn & they said that there was no fetal tissue or anything else from the abortion causing the bleeding but i am still a teenager & dont think i should be bleeding this much.

any opinions or suggestions? i could use all the info i can get...

if i were you, i would ask them to prescribe Provera. i didnt have an abortion, but i did have a d&c for a miscarriage and i bled for like 4 weeks... i went in for my post-op appointment and i told the doc i couldnt take the bleeding anymore because it reminded me of losing the baby.. so he prescribed me provera (its designed to trick your body in to thinking its time for your period) and it stopped the bleeding, i got a normal period, no more abnormal bleeding/spotting/clotting.
