I am allergic to most antibiotics, but due to a UTI that ive had for over 3 years ,my dr decided to get me tested to see if im allergic to penicillans...Dr says im not and can take them safley...SO...I got prescribed amoxillan 500 mgs 3 times daily for 5 days...After i took the first one ,my mood changed,to feeling extremly anxious and hyper..A crawling out of my skin sensation..Also i felt really disconnected at the same time..I do have anxiety normally but this was like exxagerated after taking just one 500 mg amoxcil...Ive read that it can cause these reactions,my question is this..How serious is this reaction and does this mean its a precurser to an severe allergic reaction ,or other CNS reacvtions such as convulsions and seizures..I desperatley need help since this is my last chance antibitic!!I have developed shingles from having this chronic infection and my allergies are way worse , ears hurt and at times get heavy chest from them as well..So i desperatly need an antiobtioc, but am terrifed to take it...WOuld a lower dose be better??Any help would be helpful fro ive become highly depressed over my health and watching it get worrse and worse..I never feel good anymore, and this depression isnt helping..I feel hopeless now about getting better!!Thank you!!

Reversible hyperactivity, agitation, anxiety, insomnia, confusion, convulsions, behavioral changes, and/or dizziness are some side effects due to brain reaction to this drug (not an allergic ones).
When treating chronic urinary infection, the dosage can't be lower than recommended (sometimes, it can be prescribed as higher dose than the regular one) In stubborn infections, therapy may be required for several weeks.
Clinical and/or bacteriological evaluation before therapy and follow-up for several months after cessation of therapy are often necessary.

Yes i have ezcema and environmentasl allergies .As a kid i had to have allergy needles but cant remeber off hand what i was allergic too..I know cats and dogs was up there, maybe some foods, not too sure. But in the last 5 years or so my ezema has gotten way worse and now i have nummular ezema all over my legs and arms..I also had a huge reaction to hair dyes, had an all over body break out with swelling..HAd to take predisone for that..Its like my body has become seriously hyper sensitive in the last 5 years or so..SO yes it scares me about this brain reaction stuff...I wonder if that gets better as u take it or worse!!
