Q: Menstruation lasting 3+ weeks

So starting around 4 months ago, January, I stopped having my period. I didn't go to the doctor because I had been on the Depo shot for birth control and had gone off of it and ever since it has been screwing with my cycle so I didn't think much of it. Now I got my period back and I've had it for about 3 weeks. I have really bad fatique and cramps. I also have joint pain in my shoulders when I wake up in the morning and sometimes bad headaches. I have an appointment for the doctor in a couple days which was the soonest I could get one. Please help.

I think it could be caused by the hormones. I had a period that lasted two months when I went off the pill. But it's a good thing that you have an appointment to see the doctor in case it is caused by something else.

I have been bleeding for over 50 days and your headaches could be from anemia . I had headaches dizziness and weakness until I started taking iron pills and the symptoms got better. I might be a good thing to ask your doctor to test to see if you are anemic. If you continue on like this , you might need a blood transfusion.

I am not a medical professional , just someone going through a similar situation.
