Menstruation Answer A5778

List of other diseases, conditions, or injuries and their treatment: mychodral ischemnia, follicles ovarian cyst
Current medical status: nothing
Current medical treatment: provera and metformin for menstration, and carnicor and vastarel for my heart and tramadol because of my jaw pain...

During the menstrual cycle the concentration of the female sex hormones in the blood varies. In the second half of the menstrual cycle the secretion of the hormone progesterone is dominant. Shortly before the start of the period the progesterone level in the blood suddenly decreases. In most women this does not cause any signs or symptoms. However, in certain women this decrease can affect the autonomic nervous system, thus causing the symptoms you described: fast heart beat, burping, pain in the head due to spasm of arteries that supply the particular area with blood.

You might want to talk to your gynecologist about these symptoms; to check if they might originate from the use of Provera. Also, he might recommend adequate medications to relieve the symptoms of the autonomic nervous system.
