I started on the NuvaRing on May 28th, 2012 on the first day of my period like the directions said to do. I had a light period for a few days (which is normal for me) and then it turned into a heavier flow of brown discharge which has continued for up until today (June 13), 2 1/2 weeks later. I am now experiencing regular blood flow again as if I am just starting my period but this has all been going for 2 1/2 weeks now and I am supposed to take my NuvaRing out this coming Monday. Why have I not stopped bleeding? Is this normal? Will the bleeding continue throughout the rest of this NuvaRing cycle and then stop when I put the new one in again?

It sounds like breakthrough bleeding, one of the side effects of hormonal birth control. Speak to your doctor. There is a number of ways to stop this.

Best of luck!
