I had an ablation 9 years ago which ended my periods. Two years after surgery, I began having hotflashes and sweats. They got so bad my gyn said it was menopause, but I didn't want to take HRT. For two years I used Black Cohosh, which worked well. Then, it stopped working and my symptoms escalated. I finally told my doctor I would take HRT and did so for 2 years. I ended HRT at the end of October without symptoms resuming. But, in late July, I began bleeding heavily. It tapered off across 3 days. An ultrasound was normal, with an endometrial lining of 3mm and a biopsy was also normal. But, my blood tests indicate that I am not yet menopausal. My gyn said I will go through the menopausal symptoms again. How can this be? Can a woman experience menopause twice? Did the HRT mess up my natural cycle?
