Hello, I am new to this forum. I wonder if you could advice me. I have had a inner meniscus repair just about 5 weeks ago. I do have to highlight that I don't remember injuring myself in the first place and it all started with sudden pain, swelling and inflammation in the knee joint. I have then (after about a week and two steroid injection) had an MRI where I've been told I have torn my meniscus and will need an arthroscopy, which i have had an meniscus tear was repaired. My recovery went well, as with two small children I "just got on with it". I felt great until a few day ago when my knee swell up again and due to that I am unable to bend my knee again and taking stairs down is causing some more pain again (it is just in the area where the swelling is). Is this experience of a "flare up"relatively normal? My physical activity was very much back to normal and I can't say I did anything to induce the swelling. Should I give it some time or contact my doctor? Rest or exercise? Thank you.
