Hi ehealth forum members,

Im 17year sold in my last year with exams coming up soon im begining to worries i will have trouble remembering stuff. the last few years my short term memory has worsened and so have my school grades..
At first i just thought it was normal but now i think it maybe something more serious as it seems to be getting worse. here are a list of things have been worrying me.

1) I find it so hard to read things like books/novel/worksheets i have a hard time trying to get it to sink into my brain and to remember it. sometimes i can read a whole page in a novel and have no idea what i have just read. I may find my self reading it several times before it sinks in.

2) I often make stupidly random mistakes such as typing "bucks" instead of "books", jabbing the spacebar too early, typing letters and sometimes whole words early.

3) I feel like i have no emotions, i dont get nervous/scared/worried. I dont seem to get excited about anything which most people would get excited about.

4) I feel like im on autopilot and do things subcontiously. I constantly feel like im in a trance this feeling used to be only sometimes but has got worse

5) I always feel tired and have a lack of willpower to succeed like i once used too. I used to be very competitive.

6)I oftern miss place things, keys and wallet and forget simple things.

7) I also find it hard to stay focused on the job at hand.

Hope you can help in some way.

Thanks in advanced

IT seems more like you're having problems concentrating than you are with your memory. This can happen due to anxiety...which it seems like you're decribing. I'd suggest that you see a psychologist for an expert opinion on possible causes for these symptoms and to talk through your emotions and behavior pattenrs. Learning new behaviors is one way to change your emotional state of mind.
