Yesterday I got the news that I have melanoma on a mole that was removed just above my eye brow. I will go in for Moh's surgery next week. It was breslow 0.44. Has anyone else had melanoma removed above their eye using this type of surgery?
Thank you!

Moh's surgery is more commonly used for other types of skin cancer, although some experts advocate its use in cases such as yours, when the tumor is located on areas of the face that make it more difficult to perform more radical excisions without causing severe deformity or disability. The most important surgical factor is the COMPLETE removal of the entire tumor, with a margin of normal surrounding skin, irrespective of how the operation is actually performed.

Thank you so much for your reply. I've also been experiencing several migraines over the last two weeks can this be related to the skin cancer?

Hope you are doing okay. The first doctor I went to was just a dermatologist. He wanted to do Moh's surgery. But the word MELANOMA made me worry and worry. I called around to all the best cancer hospital in the USA and was told to get it done a different way. I had full melanoma surgery. The cancer removed and a large margin of skin around it. Also they checked the sentinel lymph nodes on both side of my neck. All were cancer free. I feel good that I had it done that way. My friend had it the same time I did and she had Moh's surgery. It came back three times and she is not doing good. Keep checking your body and make sure you have a real good doctor not just a nice person. Also you should be seeing an oncologist, too. Jack
