Ok. so I haven't been on here in a WHILE. My son is now almost 10 mos. About a month ago he got pneumonia and border line strep throat. The pedi gave me a "magic mouthwash" for the throat pain, because he would not sleep, and would literally be up all night screaming. So I took him in and asked her to PLEASE give me something to help him with the pain. He was already on an antibiotic. So she gave me the mouthwash mix. It was 1/4 teasp of a mixture of maalox and bynodryl. It worked GREAT for the first couple of days, then after that when i would give it to him he would be up all during the night crying. He would always put himself back to sleep, but would wake about every 30 mins or so. So I stopped the mix, and he was fine. Now lately when I give him Ibuprofen at bedtime he does the same thing. It was so bad the other night that when I went in to check on him he literally clung to me like he was scared to death . A friend told me some meds can cause night terrors. He has done fine with meds until just lately. Just wondering if anyone else has ever had this prob.

It's possible. Different people have various reactions to medications. Ibuprofen can be rough on the tummy, so maybe that was something he was experiencing.

Just avoid anything with those medications for now. He may grow out of this intolerance.

The only other thing I can think of is just plain coincidence. Hope your son is feeling better.
