hello i am a 28 years old male with HBP. i have been taking atenolol almost a year now (i used to take neobloc but there is no changes in my blood pressure) when i was diagnosed with Hypertension the first doctor just prescribed neobloc it was ok in the first month suddenly i have the feeling i am going to faint and feeling being dizzy just moving around

i got a second opinion, doctor was surprised i shouldnt been takin meds yet he told me the first doctor should have told me to loose weight(330lbs 5'10) and he told me to stop taking neobloc. after a week without it i was feeling funny, (i was freaking out) then i went back and he prescribed me with atenolol 50mg first then i should loose weight, i cut back on carbs, junk food etc. done some exercise. so i lost few pounds my BP was ok (when on atenolol 110/60 BPM60 without 128/78 BPM 80*avg bp) then here it goes with the side effects again started to feel tired, lethargic cant even wash my car clean the house so i cut back to 25mg then was fine again

now my heart beats like there is an extra beat then went on on a normal rhythm again and when i was about to take my next med again i checked on my BP machine sometimes my BPM is on avg 90 to 105 resting heart pounding and my bp 150/90 highest.after i take my med few mins will register again to 110/60 BPM 60
average extra beat goes to 5 to 30 on a day

and i noticed that i been nervous lately. even when on doing some racing on a track meet. my heart feels pounding and will definitely experience some extra beat. i took a reading after that registered 140/90 bpm 105 2 hours before my next med

should i look for another doctor?( the last doctor was out of the country)should i ask him how to quit atenolol i ve read some info about the atenolol you shouldnt stop or quit cold turkey.. i hate the feeling of being lethargic and feeling nervous most of the time especially while driving. does anybody feel the same thing on atenolol?

thank you

PS: i am already 275lbs doing 30 to an hour cardio a day. cut back on meat, carbs junkfood, stopped on alcohol, burgers, high cholesterol food's
but i am still a smoker half to 1 pack a day
