Is it possible for someone with bipolar to reach a point through therapy that does not require them to take medications anymore? I hear lots of different things. Some people say that medications are an absolute necessity, while others don't take them. I'm just wondering. Will a person with bipolar who does not take medications eventually plummet, or can they do very good without them? I'm very curious! looking

Are medications a necessity for someone with bipolar?
Hi there

Bypolar is the ups and downs of high adrenaline, and the low afterwards.
It is the activation of the fight or flight mechanism of the brain.
The brain sees allergens as being attacked (which it is) and produces massive amounts of adrenalin to fight off the attackers.

This high lasts until the amount of adrenalin has been used.
Then the low starts, by which time the allergen is consumed again and the cycle starts again.
The most common allergen, and the most often consumed allergen is dairy.
Instead of taking antipsychotic medication like Lithium, Valproate/Divalproex, Carbamazepine, Lamotrigine, Topiramate, Gabapentin, or any of the other poisons usually issued for this (allergic) disorder, give up dairy products for one month and see the improvement.
You'll never want to suckle off the cow again!

Good luck

To AliciaSayer:

You're whole life isn't a lie. Having relationships with a person with bipolar presents dangers. I know this: I was never able to get back to the same good graces with two people who have bipolar after arguments. Yeah, it's dissapointing. It wasn't my fault, and it's not your fault. I think the roller coaster is compelling. Trying to be there for someone has its drawbacks. Maybe you'll agree in time.
