Q: Medication for abnormal EEG ?

My 21 month old son had an abnormal EEG reading. According to the Neurologist, he had 3 bursts. I'm not sure if 3 is a lot, or if bursts possibly go away? Also, his episodes are short-lived, 2-3 seconds tops. His symptoms have been consistent whereas he makes a facial grimace and his eyes either flutter or roll back. It happens so quickly that by the time you notice something is amiss, the episode is over. The medication Keppra was discussed with us but we decided not to do anything yet. An MRI will take place next week, so we'll have more info at that time. My question is, is it ok to wait on the medication for a few weeks to see if the episodes go away? I'm a very upset mom who just needs a little reassurance/information since this is all new to me. Thanks!!
