I have had seizures since the age of 15, I am now 37, have always been as private as possible about my condition due to a lot of people not fully understanding seizures. My problem is, I suffered a seizure during church, friends were able to get me out of the sanctuary and to a more private area. The PA from my doctors office also attends this church and came to where I was. After home from church, I find out that the PA was stating that she was going to have my license pulled, she was saying this as I was having the seizure and there were many people around her to hear this. This is the first seizure I have had in two years. And I am not upset that she would want to "pull" my license as I am about her announcing this to people near by. This PA has also came up to me during church, with many people around, asking me about my seizures and how I am doing on the medication. Matter of fact, when she did that, a girl overheard and came to me say......."wow, I didn't know you had seizures!" Like I said, I try my best to keep it private, not that I am ashamed, I just know there are people out there who have a complete misconception about seizure disorders. So my question, is this PA breaking any privacy act? I do not want to go after her in any legal manner, I would just like to know if and how I should speak to my doctor about this. I do not want to confront her personally on this matter because her personality is the most pleasant to deal with. Thank you in advance for any advice!
