Hi, I am about 3 1/2 wks preg. I took the first pill in the office yesterday and tonight at 12 I am to insert the 4 tabs using the applicator, he did give 15 vicodin 500mg, to take. I am to take the first 2 vicoden at 10, and then insert the tabs at 12 and do the vicoden every 4 hrs as needed. They lead me to believe that it will stop most of the pain and will help me sleep through most of it. After reading some stories on here, I am freaking out about what to expect. I know each person and experience is difference, but over all, since I have the pains meds will that really help with the pain? Since Im not too far into the pregnancy how bad should the "gush" as some peolple put it be? If I could have gotten into day I would have told them to do it surgically, although I think Im not far enough along for that. I have never been through this before. I know I have made the best decission on the termination, but now Im questioning the method. I am really scared, any advice

Hi there..

Even though you are early, you should expect some very heavy bleeding. It can be gushy, and you will pass clots.

Vicodin is VERY good for pain control! AND you have the right idea as far as taking it a few hours BEFORE you insert the pills.

You will have pain and heavy bleeding, but you will be okay.

thank you
I was soooo hoping to hear from YOU. I just talked to my friend who had a spontaneous abortion when she was 5 weeks, she kinda talked me through it as to what to expect. I am married and have 3 children already, so this was a very hard decission for us. I have decided to actually do it when my little when goes to bed around 8, that way by 12 or 1 the worst should be behind me, right? I am very anxious about doing this and wish it was already Sunday!

sleep
with the vicoden, has it been your experience at work, that people have really reported being able to sleep? Some of these post sound like they were lying on the floor not able to move for hours. I was going to make me a pallet in on the bath room floor, I also got some emtrol for the neausea. Any other suggestions on making this more comfortable for me? Does the craming peak then titrate down? How can I expect to feel tomorrow, physically? Thank you again, you have been a God send

The cramping is very severe for about 4-6 hours, then goes down.

I do not know of anyone who has been able to sleep through the medical abortion.

Basically the medicine puts you into a type of 'mini labor', you actually have contractions because of the meds.

You should feel fairly okay the next day, maybe a little tired though.

Mini labor? That is Mini? wooo goodness, there is no way I would be able to go through real labor. My cramping was so severe it sent me to the ER and i was shaking uncontrollably. I am no wuss to pain, i have had painful menstrual cycles and 3 ruptured Ovarian cysts (which is HORRID PAIN) but no way compares to my medical ab. I was vomiting, had the sh*ts,chills, fever, sweating profusely..just freaking horrid. The pain meds couldn't and didn't touch the pain. I can't believe this is something that they are allowing to be done at home.
