The use of Cytotec (misoprostol) for self-inducing abortions is technically illegal and is associated with a high complication rate. Cytotec is prescribed as an oral medication (taken by mouth) and failed attempts to use it as an abortion pill can result in partial abortions or birth defects. It would be appropriate to contact a Gynecologist to discuss safe and legal options.
