I have been diagnosed as having MDD, I have actually been depressed for a very long time, many years but only recently have I seeked help, anyways i was wondering if one disorder such as MDD can evolve into Bipolar?

Also, I always felt like, and even before being diagnosed with MDD, I always felt like I was borderline Bipolar, because I would notice my mood can change within minutes, and I researched and noticed thats one of the symptoms of Bipolar, but I've never had those manic episodes.
I was admitted into a mental hospital not too long ago because I attempted suicide with taking over 100 various meds and I roomed with someone who has Bipolar, though I also think he had schizophrenia but the day before I left the hospital he flipped out on everybody including me, and I've never felt that way, mainly because I feel like I dont want to make a scene, so I hold it in, but Ive also noticed that I have done things like that in the past just not as severe, sorry for the long post, but I wanted to get all that down, so please let me know
thanks

i was diagnosed with MDD for many years... dr's also said i was bp but until recently i would not accept their diagnosis.

i suggest you seek professional help and make a list of symptoms before hand.

MDD and mania go hand in hand. i never thought that i was manic. i still don't quite see it but i do know that years of taking meds for MDD didn't work and meds for bp DO. are you able to function?

i have/am seeking help, have been for a year, taken various meds throughout so far, i see 3 DIFFERENT psychiatrists

but mood wise, the last time i really noticed it was a few days ago when i found out that i was getting state disability for this disorder, and i found out that i was getting 1000 bucks so i was quite happy, but then within minutes my mood changed to sad/upset feeling, like instantly, somehow i felt that way, and it does that often, if i really lost it, it would probably be in public, and end up like some people who are mentally ill, like ive already been to a mental hospital i dont really want to go to jail for some stupid thing ill regret when i realize what i just did

i hear ya brandon408! juvenile jail was enough for me...lol.

i've been seeking help for just under a year now. a few months ago i got lucky and drew the right meds. i've been away from the forum recovering for a few months.

the limitations of disability are very unfortunate. it's normal to feel the way you feel considering you're still battling for the right meds. what a f uped illness.
