My best friend just had a wonderful baby girl on June 19th (seen in my picture) and i stayed with her the whole time in the hospital and looked after the litle one while she slept ...

now i am worried I am pregnant. Though I am on birth control i am constantly sleeping I achy all over.. my boobs hurt and i have gained weight. Though I am sure you dont start gaining weight until later on but Im just wondering can I feel maternal and symptoms just because someone close to me had a young one? or is my body just acting werid. I have not missed a period yet.. i will find out in a week if I do miss it but i was thinking about just going to get a blood test done to done and over with it.

So is it possible for your body to change when someone close to you has a baby?

Well, there is such a thing as sympathetic pregnancy where men have some of the same pregnancy symptoms as their female partners, so I suppose it's possible.

It could just be a coincidence but my ex- brother- in- law threw up at least once a day for several weeks. He kept insisting that my sister, his wife, was pregnant. (She had been told for years that she would only be able to have a child through fertility treatments- which she had not had.) Turns out that she was pregnant. And she never had a day of morning sickness. I guess he did all the throwing up for her!

I don't think you're pregnant. I think seeing your friend with a beautiful baby has made you more sensitive to your body and more apt to wonder about and want to be pregnant.
