Q: Masterbation IS A SIN?

I am a 16 year old boy that masturbates atleast 2 times a day per week and I would like to say that I am a Christian but I would be lying, because to be a Christian is to be "Christ Like". Now Im not interested in comments of perverts and whoremongers here because they will all have their part in the lake of fire(Revelation 21:Cool; but rather I would like Christians to respond, and if you think your'e Christian but believe masterbation is okay you are not a Christian.

I know that the Bible condemns masterbation and I read the Bible frequently, and know a lot, but I am one of those kinds of people who worships God with my lips but my heart heart is far from him (see Isaiah 29:13 and James 1:23-24). Jesus condemened the lust in ur mind, and called it adultrey which breaks the 7th commandement and if you break 1 commandement you are guilty of all according to the Bible (see James 2:12).

Not to mention that the Bible condemns masterbation if u read here;

2 Timothy 2:22 "Flee also youthful lusts: but follow righteousness, faith, charity, peace, with them that call on the Lord out of a pure heart."

Romans 13:14 "But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the flesh, to fulfil the lusts thereof."

Romans 6:12 "Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey it in the lusts thereof."

God is always right and if you aren't a believer in Christ consider this of your experiences with sin;

Proverbs 27:20 "Hell and destruction are never full; so the eyes of man are never satisfied."

How do I quit? its a filthy habit. The love of sin is the problem, how do i stop it?

thanks for reading.

Masturbation is not a sin. It is completely 100% natural and safe. By the way...don't forget that the scriptures in the Bible were edited, revised, cut, pasted, and who knows what else, in order to suite the needs of the (not so holy men) at the time it was written. I'm sure I'll get a lot of back-lash for that..... Anyways, you have nothing to worry about and there is no reason on earth, or in the bible, as to why you should quit.

ummmm you're wrong. end of story. notice in the bible it also says "all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God" and that all sin is forgivable. And the only requirement to be a Christian is to believe in Christ. Because a Christian is a follower of Christ, not a perfect person. God knows everyone has sinned and knows that we will all continue to sin. Jesus is the ONLY person who has or ever will live without sin.

So, what is your point? You believe you are sinning by masturbating. You need to go to see a priest for confession and absolution.

just because some book tells you not to do something you do it? Are you a sheep? Who cares what some old fart wrote, doesn't make it true. Do you believe everything you read?

It's totally your personal decision.

It's also in the bible that men can have multiple wives, slaves, etc. You have to decide what you really believe.

A pure mind would be a mind that is confident enough to know the difference between right and wrong regardless of the many contradictions, exaggerations, historical falsities found within an archaic book.

If you find that masturbation is wrong, that's fantastic... as long as you yourself can back it up without A) judging or hurting others or B) relying on other people to tell you so (In my opinion, that's not mental or spiritual purity).

If you think it's right, that's also fantastic... again, as long as you don't judge or hurt others or do it just because someone told you so.

Be strong in your convictions. My advice would be to not judge others for theirs, though.

Me, personally, I'm ok with masturbation. It's healthy, it doesn't hurt anyone and it's enjoyable. Where's the amorality in that?

and Jesus didn't judge or damn people, he LOVED people..even those who masturbated...so don't worry about it.

Denouncement of masturbation isn't a pre-requisite to being a Christian. I was baptised a Catholic (though I am now atheist) and no longer does the mainstream Catholic front even denounce masturbation as sin. Only the creationist-believing backwards churches still label normal bodily functions as sin.

Every quote from the bible you have cited is open to interpretation and none of them directly reference masturbation. So it's up to you. You can either (a) Interpret the bible negatively, as so many so-called Christ followers do, and struggle with this dilemma that won't go away until you're one day impotent or (b) Realise that there is nothing sinful about normal bodily functions.

I belive in GOD, and in regards to the Bible, I belive its the word of MEN at the time to suite their views and Ideas of GOD.

If a hard core raciest would have written the bible, who knows what it would have said, You can not take what you read lightly. Every that you read is the ideas and views of the men who wrote it. Never forget that… don’t close your mind, close your eyes and open your mind instead.

If the US president and US House of Reps used Drugs and beilived it was ok, they would use the law to their advantage and change the law to fit their needs...

its only a sin if you want it to be, be to be truthful... i think that in this day and age guys need to slow down big time, like once every week, should be a good goal, i was at a time in my life a year ago where i masturbated 5 to 6 times daily for a month straight... i was extremely depressed and the only that kept me from being bored was alot of pornography and just sitting around masturbating, i still cant hit once a week but at lease im at twice daily now.

Okay, if the bible said it's a sin, then they need to say "...and God killed all the masturbaters..." People interpret the words in the bible as something they're not. If it was sooooo bad, then why don't priests say at the end of mass or whatever it's called in Christinaity, "...and remember, don't masturbate. It's a sin!" They need to be more direct on it or just leave the subject alone.

Besides I'm sure those priests go in the back room and jack off after each sermon.
