Q: Masses in the abdomin

A few weeks ago I had pains shooting throught the left side of my stomach it came and went for the next three days. And then on the fourth day the pain came back but did not let up it got worse and worse I was eventually doubled over in pain and could barely walk. When I got to the emergency room my blood pressure was low and they gave me a pregnancy test (negative) ct scan and a pelvic and abdominal ultrasound. They said it look like a had a cyst bust on my left ovary they gave me some pain medicine and sent me out the door 8 hours later. Two weeks later I went to my gynecologist and the er department didn't send him the ultrasounds or ct scan so he felt my stomach and said he could feel a mass and for me to come back in 1 month by that time he will know more. What in the world is that you are doctor do your own ultrasound. I just went through something serious two weeks prior and my stomach still has pain sometimes. You need an abdominal ultrasound and MRI/CT-scan to find out what you really have in your abdomen (cyst, tumor...). I really have no idea why your gynecologist didn't make another ultrasound scan to confirm or exclude the presence of “a mass”.

You may want to request a second opinion from a gynecologist without waiting for another month.
