Q: Mass or liquid in uterus ?
asked by: DoctorQuestion on November 8th, 2009
i had been taking zoladex for 2 months i was due a 3rd shot about a 3 wks ago but did not take it due to the side effects and terrible outbreaks of hives, while at the ultrasound scan last wk the radiographer notices that my uterus had something in in, i wonder what could this be? and if it was my period why has it still not come out? I went to the doctor but she did not say anything about this mass/liquid in my uterus. what could it be? it was a black image on the screen in the scan dept. I really feel i need a mri scan as i know something is just not right, how can i convince my gp/gynae/gastro to carry out such investigation, i have been very unwell for one year now and although endometriosis is diagnosed i just have no answers as to why my body is so weak, my left breast has masses in it and is sore, also in my groin i have lumpy lymph nodes, and a black flat spot, my left upper back is increasing painful. please advise my how to approach gp/gynae/gastr, with my concerns, thanks

Hi, and thanks for your medical question on eHealth forum

With a mass in uterus and lumps in breast, it is important that you have an abdominal Ct and mammography of breast to rule out cancer.

Though endometriosis too can cause a lump in uterus which can form a huge clot and not be pushed out, the lump could also be a fibroid or a cancerous tumor.

Since you have been feeling so unwell, consult your PCP and voice your concerns. If this gynecologist is not listening, maybe you can get a referral for another or for a cancer specialist.

It is difficult to comment beyond this at this stage. Hope this helps. Take care!
