Hi. I am an international student and I don't speak english well, but please help me. When I first started smoking 5years ago, but I usually smoked 4 months a year. I never had withdrawal symtom before last year. Last year when i quit smoking , i had withdrawal symtom for 2 months after smoking 3 months. actually i started taking prosaz, and benzodia(???).last two years ago. THis time , i stoppped taking those pills a day before I started smoking.
I smoked for 4 weeks and I decided quit, I actually took those pills three time while smoking. this is my fourth week of withdrawal. I am still very dizzy and ( I don't sweat anymore, eating disorder is not too bad?) the most worried thing is blurred vision(very dizzy). it doesn't get any better.
what is the problem with me? should i see a doctor? is my brain or eyes messed up? is it chemical imbalace? can doctors do anything about this? what kind of doctor do i have to see?\
Please help me.. I am a college student. I need to study,, and because of withdrawal, i am losing my friends. they can't take my conditiion anymore.
PLease Help Me.

Marijuana withdrawel
Hi there, I wouldn't worry too much about getting dizzy. i would say it's just a withdrawel symptom. I myself used to smoke marijuana too for a lot of years and I smoked quite a lot of it too. if however you are still worried about it I would go and see a doctor, just a normal doctor and tell him your concerns. Are the pills youre talking about anti depressents?? Do you mean prozac?

If you want to quit smoking you just need to make that choice. You have no idea of the things I went through as a drug user and I managed to get through it. yes you'll get withdrawels ( anyone who tells you you cannot get addicted is full of it ) it is very addictive. but you'll get through it. Just take it day by day and don't let risk your education. If you're in college that means you're smart. please don't throw it all away.

Be strong. It's all in the mind....

Get off prozac NOW! It will damage your brain, may cause suicide .
Dizziness is one of withdrawal symptoms from prozac, go to NA meetings for weed even if school suffers your health is #1

Marijuana Withdraw
I can tell you that Marijuana withdraw is so very real. I have been a heavy smoker for 25 years and have quit several times for up to 3 months during those 25 years. Mainly due to drug testing at work. I never saw any type of withdraw symptoms from stopping other than loss of sleep--That is until a few months ago when I got a severe panic attack with rapid heart beat right after smoking. It kept happening evertime I tried to get high so I simply quit. About 7 days after I quit smoking I went through TOTAL HELL with withdraw. I was like I had been on hard drugs all my life. I still cant beleive how bad it was. Horable anxiety, stress, panic attacks and depression for a whole month and even deep into the second month. I do miss the pot because it really helped relaz me at night but there is no way in hell I would ever want to go through that again. I honestly thought that I was going crazy.

I am a habitual marijuana user, and sometimes the day after I do way too much, I get a bad headache right when I wake up. My anxiety also goes through the roof. It sucks. Once I went 2 weeks without smoking and had the worst anxiety of my entire life. My body basically shut down. It was horrible.

I'm glad to hear other people experience this...

No more withdraw symptoms
detoxxx, you will soon be through your bad feelings. It did take me almost 2 months. Drinking beer or any booze will just make matters worse, so be sure not to event pop a couple of beers. Let all of your anxiety go away completely. If you are taking anxiety meds, be very carfull. in the begining you may have no choice because the anxiety is so intense but I am telling you stay away and fight it off. YOU WILL GET THROUGH THIS

I have been smoking marijuana for more than 12 years fairly heavily and every day, and have quit many times for varying periods.
Different people seem to have different levels of dependency, most people seem to have no problems at all or at least no major problems, however you are one of the rare unlucky ones. The longest I have quit is one year.

I have at some points had fairly severe symptoms such as diziness and shaking, confusion and disorientation..lack of apetite and been very aggitated and depressed as well as an inability to sleep. But severe symptoms like this only when going from smoking 6 or more times a day to not smoking at all and usually faded after the first 2 weeks to just anxiety and sleeplessness.

I usually have no symptoms of withdrawl at all, even going cold turkey, it seems to depend more on my mental state than anything.

the symptoms of psychological and habitual addiction only last a month or two at the very most for me, and usually not nearly that long. Residual effects of the drug can last up to 3 months as it completely clears your system though.
You may notice your mind is sharper and memory is better after about 3 months without it, so it is worth quitting if you are doing a lot of study.

I quit again last week for the first time in around 5 years without any negative symptoms. As a daily smoker, it's hard to break the habbit sometimes, so it might be good to find something else to take your mind off of it.

Hopefully after a couple of weeks it will have eased up for you. It shouldn't take long
I know some people claim to have had more severe problems, but the truth is it is mostly psychological and seeing a therapist may be the best solution.

you just need to try to relax. Chill out with a cup of tea or something when you feel really bad and just try to relax your mind.
It isn't a physical addiction as such, so how long it takes you to recover depends a lot on how prepared you are mentally. Just stay calm, try to keep from stresssing overly about it and take it easy. Don't put too much pressure on yourself.

and once again, if the symptoms are as bad as you claim, I really suggest some form of councelling, narcotics ananymous may be one option, although possibly not the best option.

You'll be fine after a short while, just remember that, and take it one day at a time. You'll be feeling fine before you know it.

Cabbageman that was an excellent post. I too was a heavy smoker for over a decade but last month quit for a year for work reasons. I found the first night hard to get to sleep but apart from that it has been fine.

I agree your mental approach is very important, I just stopped and upped my exercise regime to help with anxiety and any possible depressive fallout and I have found it fairly easy to give up.

Good luck to those trying, remember to just stop smoking it and not think about it loads, just get on with the rest of your life. I have many smoking friends who have asked how hard it is to stop and I point them to sites like this. It seems everyone has varying reactions to withdrawal.

WelI am also one of the chronic users..Started 14 years old just passed my 30...My longest withdrawal was for 2 months..Well what I can say on this topic is, that the way how the withdrawal can affect you, depends a lot on the actual circumstances of your life...I dont reccommend to quit if you are extremely stressed up at work, personal life, having big problems(left you a partner. It's extremely hard to go trought the problems without your all life friend - ganje. It will multiply it, not in reality but in your mind your anexiety and another withdrawal symptoms as well. The best time to quit, is when everything is going well...Everyone is different, but this is my experience. I had to quit quitting cos I needed to calm down and couldnt sleep. And I also quit smoking unless intented to quit - just realised that it was already month without.(while traveling).

I smoked weed for over 12 years, from morning to night, every single day. I thought it didn't affect me at all until I quit. It is addictive no matter what anyone tries to say and it will affect your ability to rationalise everyday situations while smoking. I have to agree with Riki, if you have personal problems it isn't the best time to quit. Unfortunally my personal problems began the week after I quit and it had caused severe panic attacks to the point I passed out and hit my head. There are plenty of places to get help and you shouldn't be embarrassed to ask for it. The key is to be in an emotionally stable position and have as many friends and family aware of your situation and also have a lot of activities to take your mind off it....

withdrawals?
i smoked weed and dro many times a day for over a year, i hadnt smoked for like 3 days and started feeling wierd, really wierd, so i smoked a bowl and my heart started racing for hours, from 11p.m. to about 7:30 a.m. so i went to the emergency room i thought i was gonna have a heart attack. Its been over 2 weeks since ive smoked and i still feel wierd, like not myself. because i feel so strange i dont really like to hang out with my friends anymore and all i want to do is sleep it off and also i have no apetite hardly, eating has become a chore. i just want to feel normal again, also my memory is really shitty. i use to work out alot and i breakdance but i havent felt like doing any of these activities. oh yeah and im having a shitload of dreams, very real feeling dreams and the nightmares just suck.
