I am 6.5 wks pregnant.I cannot eat, sleep nor keep anything down when I do force myself to eat. I've lost weight. I am a very healthy, 35 yr old professional.Im a non-drinker & a non-smoker.2 days ago, my dear friend was over and I was telling her what was going on. My gf said she tried a puff of a marijuana joint periodically throughout her pregnancy when she was unable to keep food down.Despite the guilt, I desperately needed some food to stay down. I took a puff of a joint and soon I was starving. I ate, kept it down AND slept!!I'm wondering if anyone else has had this experience..I am not looking for nasty responses from people re:marijuana use.I'm referring to a puff here and there, NOT sitting around getting stoned on weed while pregnant. Thanks for your time

I dont see anything wrong with it. I kno plenty of women who had the same problems as you, and also used marijuana as some sort of treatment. And guess what? their babies are perfectly normal, and happy. And none of them were underweight. Of course ur gna hear bad responses and those are going to be from the ppl that dont agree with marijuana irregardless.

Hey NorthernOntario,

I guess a puff here and there is okay. It's up to you and your doctor to decide if this is okay.

However, keep in mind that some women do lose weight during their first trimester. Try to talk to your doctor about it. Also, do you have severe morning sickness? If you do, you may have hypermesis gravidarum, which could be the reason behind the weight loss.

See your doctor! And good luck Smile
