Ok so i know somebody who has these symptoms and I know there has to be some kind of mental condition to suit him but i'm not sure what! He has horrible mood swings especially when things don't go his way, he is always extremely happy like nothing can bother him, he changes his mind constantly...sometimes it's even hourly, he talks about doing things and never follows through with them, he makes plans and then forgets about them or completely disregards them, he is easily distracted, he feels like he is the best thing that has happened to the world and everyone else is nothing, he lies about things and i think he actually believes his own lies sometimes, he has child like behavior, he does the same things over and over again, he gets really angry when things don't go his way or if someone tells him something that he doesn't want to hear, he sleeps a lot, he feels he needs to be the center of attention everywhere he goes and needs that attention...thrives on it.
He has the symptoms of manic bipolar, schizophrenia, and multipersonality. I'm curious as to if he has just a single mental condition or if he really has a bit of all three!?! I want to also make sure that he has some kind of mental condition before i talk to him about it. Thanks!

A label is just that and does not necessarily help him. I agree with FGM that he does need help and soon. The hourly component does not meet the classic Bipolar thought the "on top of the world" and distractibility is consistent. Another negative is that in manic phase, Bipolar there is usually LITTLE NEED FOR SLEEP and HIGH ENERGY. But it usually lasts for 4 days. You may be seeing some elements of rapid cycling such as "Cyclothymia"; at any rate, I would get him to a psychiatrist (would not suggest a GP for this one) and pronto.
