Q: Man unable to have female children ?

I was told that my father could not have a girl child. I am the only girl of 4 kids and I am lesbian. Just wondering if it is medically correct that a man could not father female children.
And before its asked, yes I am sure my father IS my father. Smile

Clarify, please...
I'm not following your question.

If a man can not father a female child then how do you suppose that the egg gets fertilized? A child can not be created without a man's sperm a woman's egg.

Unless there is some new cutting edge technology that we're unaware of...

If a man can not create a female child then in time there would be no females left...

This is a guess on my part, totally a guess. Maybe 'redteam' father told her that he could not produce a female and that her being a female and a lesbian, maybe that is his way to tell her that she should have been born a boy? (if he knows of her choice) From what I gathered she has male siblings...

Yes, somebody, please enlighten myself and Fairy*Godmother on this one.

OK let me try to clarify

I am wondering, from a medical stand point, if it is possible for a man to only be able to reproduce male children, due to some sort of chromosone mess up.

Good Question
If you ever find out this answer.please let us know. I have never heard of this or let alone thought about it...........
* Your father could not have a girl child, yet he had you..........therefore, you are a female child. What, who and how you choose for a sex life does not change the fact you were born a female. Nor does his answer why he would say something like this?

Males donate the sperm which contains 22 autosomal chromosomes and 1 sex chromosome. The male determines the gender of the offspring, since the male is the only one with XY characteristics.

Thus there is a 1 in 2 chance of a normal male producing a female with a normal female. I have not seen any cases of a man producing only male children from chromosomal abnormalities.

I can't think of any reason that this would happen. I've never heard of it, and it doesn't really make genetic sense, but if it's real, please let me know. I'm intrigued if it is so. The man can't only have Y-chromosomes, because they (y-chromosomes) don't actually sustain life. You can have single X, but no Y-only.

There is one thing: a translocation where the Y chromosome transfers the SRY gene to the X chromosome. Thus the X chromosome has the SRY function on it and so XX would be a male.

So the chromosomal sex would be female (XX), gonadal sex male (possesses SRY gene) and phenotypic sex probably male (external genitalia).

no not possible
The male does determine the sex of the children. Males have a sex chromosome of XY and Females have XX. The father will either donate an X or a Y while the mother only donates the X. Long story short the only way a male can have only male offspring is if his sex chromosomes were YY which is impossible.
