Q: magnetic resonance MRI - side effects

Hi,

On August the 29th, at 21h, My husband did a normal Magnetic ressonance of his cervical (without any contrast). When the exam finished e felt a little warm. We both went home and on that same night he woke up at 6 AM, with severe pain in his back and lot of marks cover all his skin. After that he had a strange liquid dyarrea, and his esfofage and mucoses semed like they were burning. Unfortunately the symptoms maintain until now. We went to the doctor (dermatholagist) and try everything but the symptoms won't go away and are worsen. He wakes up the same every day. Since this resonance he started to have what is callel a kind of small nerves neuropathies. He made all the existing exams and the only possible cause must be the MRI.
That's when all started.

What I ask is: Does MRI damage small nerve fibers? Causing Neuropathic pain, and if so, is it curable?

Do you think I have an allergy to magnetic ressonances? Is it going to pass soon? I'm so worried. Is there any test I can do to know if MRI has done some damage to my body?

Thank you,

Lurdes/Filipe

Do you think it may have been radiation poisoning. Cedar Sinai (Los Angeles) recently informed mri patients, their machine were emitting high doses of radiation, more then what is needed for exams.

Hi,

Thank you for replying me. Anyway, do you know if there is somekind of test to know that? How do you measure toxic radiation on your body?

Thank you
