I am a type II diabetic who has been taking metformin 1500 mg LA for one year. I was prescribed Lyrica for fibromyalgia and my blood sugar levels dropped significantly. I began taking only 500 mg daily then my PA took me off metformin completely. My blood sugar levels are generally ALWAYS below 100 after 2 hours pc and the last few days it has dropped to as low as 57 after a meal of pasta (2 hrs. pc). Could it be the Lyrica which has caused the drop in blood sugar levels?
Incidentally, I have lost 57 pounds in the past 14 months for no reason whatsoever. I am scheduled for colonoscopy soon.
Thank you.

Generally Lyrica causes weight gain. Lost 57 pounds in 14 months, are you doing anything differently?

Have you considered trying an anti-inflammatory diet to help with Fibromyalgia pain? I have fibro which is inflammation and inflammation begins in the digestive tract. After 8 years of aches and pains I tried it in May and by resetting my digestive tract...I'm doing well. Foods that are to be avoided: grains, cows dairy, prepackaged foods, cookies, etc. However there are lots of foods that are approved.

Been pain free since...unless I have ice cream and then I have pain for a few days.

Lyrica helping with blood sugar? Could it be your weight loss that has helped instead?

Hope all works out well for you,

~Zig
