Hi there, my mom was just diagnosed with this (taken from pathology report: Large cell Malignant lymphoma showing a bcell phenol type, type, follicular growth pattern, and large cell morphology. Numerous reactive t-cells are scattered throughout the neoplastic infiltrate. Many of the tumour cells are CD 30 plus . NGE/SB
The strange thing is this all started with nodules showing up in her lung and recently they grew so they did a left lobectectomy. They checked the actual lymph nodes and such and they were all non- malignant or negative there was one that said something about it being interlobal with a black centre an d a pale cortex but is negative. She has had no unexplained weightloss, only fatigue. The doc. Said she would have had this cancer for years. So she is to have chemotherapy and something about bone marrow. Is there any information you can tell me in regard to the above pathology report and what it may mean in regard to prognosis. We are all speculating. The Doctor did say it could move quickly so they should move fast but she has to wait two weeks even for an initial consultation!
She is still weak and in pain from the lobectomey. She is 62 years old and has never smoked and has had lung issues like some mild asthma, possible pre emphysyma (grew up around smoking!).
Any insight or help would be great.
Thank you.
