Hi all, I am new to the group, but have been having many of the typical symptoms. I just connected the hives I have been having to lupus. I didn't know that was a possiblity too. Along with the joint pain and all over aches, I had hematuria going on too, which could indicate kidney issues. I'm waiting till june to go to a highly recommended doc at ucla. Until then my regular doc is getting ultrasounds and tests run before hand. For a while it looked like what I have is fibro, but after the hives and hematuria, it looks like it could be lupus for me too. I'm having the most trouble trying to get any excercise.

Mahalo,

Did your regular doctor set up an appointment for a rheumatologist or is the specialist at ucla a rheumatologist? If your regular doctor thinks it is urgent he/she may be able to get you an earlier appointment; you may also want to call the doctor's office at ucla and request to be notified of any cancellations that they can "pencil you in" for.

Sorry to hear about the hives. I myself had shingles twice before being diagnosed, and then I got them (it?) again a month after being discharged from the hospital.

It's a long journey, but once all the t's are crossed and the i's are dotted it gets a **little** easier.
