I'm 30 years old and was just diagnosed with endometriosis last summer after having a huge cyst removed from my right ovary (along with part of the ovary). I've had painful menstrual cycles since puberty and was at first very excited and hopeful when the doctors told me about these injections that would clear up my endo and relieve my monthly pain, not to mention increase my fertility, since I want to someday have children soon. But after hearing about all the scary side effects and reading all of the horror stories, plus the fact that even after going off the treatment, the pain can come back, I'm feeling now as if... Whats the point??

I tried it for one injection. I am 21 and was 20 at the time. It made me nauseated, didn't improve pain, and I was going crazy emotionally. After one injection, when my female cycle came back, it hurt very bad (typical with endometriosis) the next two were also pretty bad "unbearable" now they calmed down to being just there normal painful states. It is worth a try. You can always try it for a month and then quit. I remember it giving me horrid anxiety. Try and have a back up plan like a doctor who will perscribe anti deppressants if you need them.

Maybe I'll give it a try for 1 mth, since it has already been ordered for me and now sitting in my fridge. But those side effects still worry me. Thanks for the feedback.

I was on lupron for 6 months, mild side effects of hot flashes and headaches that went away with coffee. It relieved my pain after a month and it was great to be period free. Now that it's been a month since I was off of it, the endo pain is back. I'm thinking I'll have to go back on it which is a bummer because I was hoping to concieve this year. It is effective though and most people are pain free for a lot longer than me. Maybe I just need more. I was on the ad-back therapy as well.
