Today I had a ''popping'' sensation in my back just under my right shoulder blade, it caused immense pain and literally took my breath away, I felt dizzy and couldnt move (because of the pain ).It hurt to breathe in and out. Now after over 12 hours of it happening I am left with pain down the right side of my back. This has happened before, 7 times, but each time seems to be getting worse. At the time I wasnt doing anything, I was just standing talking at work. Has anyone got any ideas ?

Hi, welcome to the ehealth forum and I am glad to help you.
You seem concerned with back pain.
Back pain frequently originates from musculoskeletal causes, that is, strain on the bones, muscles, and ligaments of the spine. The most common reasons for back pain are back injuries, tumors, mechanical spinal problems, conditions and diseases such as: arthritis, endometriosis, fibromylagia, infections, kidney stones, osteoporosis, pregnancy, scoliosis, spinal stenosis, spondylolisthesis and occupational job hazards. Although the causes of back pain are usually physical, emotional stress can also play a role in the severity and length of back pain. Back pain can be acute or chronic. You must consult your physician for definitive diagnosis and therapy as the same cannot be ascertained online.
Hope this helps. Take care.
Note: This post is not to emphasise final diagnosis as the same cannot be made online and is aimed just to provide medical information and no treatment suggested above be taken without face to face consultation with health care professional.
